Attention: The transformer can be used to increase the voltage from 120VAC with Jaaz Acoustics Gig and Compact amplifiers only if the input signal has a Crest Factor greater than 6dB (the ratio between peak power and effective value - RMS power).

Such a Crest Factor is a characteristic of, for example, acoustic, semi-acoustic and undistorted electric guitars. Never use a transformer for a sine signal that has a Crest Factor of only 3dB. A square wave signal, which can be used by, for example, keyboards, synthesizers and some guitar effects, has a Crest Factor of 0dB. In this case, the transformer would be overloaded and the protective fuse inside the device would blow. In this case, if the Crest Factor is less than 6 dB, it is necessary to use a 120/230V autotransformer with a ground wire and a power of at least 200VA AC
